As a speaker, writer, and advocate for Christian apologetics – particularly to teens – Alex McFarland has preached in over 1,500 different churches all around the world and has been featured at conferences across the country. During the 1990s (at a time when it was predicted that that the need for apologetics was waning), Alex pioneered apologetics conference formats designed to equip teens and adults to defend their faith. Attendees of all ages began to attend Alex’s ‘Truth For A New Generation Conference’ and his ‘National Conference On Christian Apologetics,’ eagerly learning from scholars such as Josh McDowell, Ravi Zacharias, Lee Strobel, and others. Alex has been featured at conferences such as The Billy Graham School of Evangelism, Focus on the Family’s Big Dig and California’s Spirit West Coast.
In 2006, Alex was named third president of Southern Evangelical Seminary and the Veritas Graduate School. Prior to this, Alex has served as Focus On The Family’s Director of Teen Apologetics. He continues to work with Focus On The Family as a speaker, writer, and consultant.
Alex McFarland is also the director of the Center for Christian Worldview and Apologetics at North Greenville University, a leading Christian college in the United States.
During the past decade, Alex has hosted two nationally syndicated radio broadcasts, Truth Talk Live, and SoundRezn. In 2011, Alex became co-host of Explore the Word, which is heard weekdays in over 150 U.S. cities.
Alex is the author of several books, including the best-selling 10 Most Common Objections to Christianity. He is a graduate of Liberty University and lives in North Carolina with his wife.
"First, I want to say thank you very much. Alex McFarland was our guest speaker and did a fantastic job. I appreciated his heart for getting God's Word out and utilizing the talent that God has given him for such a time as this. In addition to being a first rate speaker, an extremely well versed biblical scholar, Alex is in plain language a very pleasant person to be around and I appreciated having him at our retreat this year. I would strongly recommend Alex as a speaker, lecturer, or guest." - President, Foursquare NW Men's Retreat
