Christmas 2020: How to Invite In This Crazy Year!

Share

Merry COVID Christmas – if anything is true this year, it’s that nothing is “business as usual” and that continues as we enter into the holiday season. Depending on your location, you may not even be able to have live services yet, or you may be in a warmer climate where outdoor services are still an option, or maybe you are meeting indoors with limited capacity and an eye on the virus numbers hoping they don’t start to climb again.

But no matter your situation, Christmas is still coming and people are even more in need of the hope and peace that only Jesus can bring. And people are ready for some good news, so as God’s church we need to bring it to them as best we can. Below are the newest on-trend designs and products you can use this season to invite people to your online or in person services.

Postcard Invitations

The humble printed postcard is making a huge comeback and it’s a great way to reach people who are low-tech or are just exhausted by all the online screen time we experience these days. And there is a postcard for every type of church and meeting situation.

1) Advent Season: A lot of people and churches are getting back to basics this year with an emphasis on the weeks leading up to Christmas and the true meaning of the season. These designs work great if you are planning sermons around Advent:

Note – Advent begins the Sunday after Thanksgiving so be sure to plan early to mail a postcard for that weekend – order deadline is around November 18.

2) Online Church Services: Just because you are holding services online doesn’t mean you shouldn’t promote them! In fact, with many people not traveling this year, having a Christmas service online lets families who are separated watch together from a distance and feel more connected! Any postcard design can be customized for online only or both online and in person. Here are a few great options:

3) Other new Designs: There are over 200 Christmas Postcard design ideas on Outreach.com and they can all be customized to fit your church’s needs. Here are a few of the newest that are getting a lot of attention:

Facebook Ads

Social media sites are still a great place to connect with people digitally, but most people don’t realize that their posts are only seen by their friends and followers and that in order to really use the site to reach new people, you need to run a Facebook ad, and that can be complicated. But Outreach Digital has made it easy on church leaders by providing packages that include the designed ad, the ad setup in Facebook to the correct audience and follow up reports!

For Christmas, there are even special packages – one for a 5-week Advent series and another for Christmas Eve services – that can help you reach a whole new online audience. The deadline for the Advent package is November 18, so select your design and get started soon!

Outdoor Banners

Like a mini-billboard for your church, an outdoor banner displayed outside your building or meeting location is a key communication tool. You can use these banners to promote your events or service times, let people know your online service web address, or your current meeting status. These banners come in a variety of sizes and are custom printed with your information. Note: Banner stands are sold separately.

BONUS – From now until November 20, you can get a FREE outdoor Solar LED light with every outdoor banner you order – these lights are great for helping your banners be seen when the sun goes down early! Click here to learn more.

And remember, If you don’t see something that fits your situation or message, we can customize or print your custom design. Give us a call and our team can help you get what you need – 800-991-6011.

All of this is just the tip of the iceberg – there are more tools for directing visitors around your parking lot and building, decorating the inside of your building and making sure your church is safely disinfected. Visit the website for more resources!
