The simplest way to introduce Rod Hairston is to tell you about his passions.  His life is centered around three simple things: a passion for God, a passion for his family, and a passion to see men succeed.  Rod and his wife, Sheri, have been married for more than 23 years and have 4 children. Rod is an author, speaker and motivator of men from all walks of life -- from corporate boardrooms, to professional athletics, to local churches. Quite simply, he loves to help men win personally, relationally, professionally, and spiritually.

For 14 seasons Rod has served as a life coach and chaplain to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, helping them to build a winning culture among front office executives, coaches, and players.  He was privileged to be a part of two Super Bowl victories -- Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII.  Rod describes his years with the Ravens as, “Beyond my wildest dreams.” There he focused on motivating men, challenging them appropriately, and helping them succeed in life.  “What I did on the sidelines and in the locker room transfers seamlessly to other environments. “

Rod now shares the wisdom and insights he gained from those years in the professional sports world as he speaks in a variety of settings including NCAA events, corporate seminars, retreats, churches, and conferences.

Rod is also the founding pastor at Messiah Community Church, a vibrant community of Christ followers who are daily experiencing healing, strengthening, and transformation through faith in Jesus Christ.  Additionally he serves on the Advisory Boards for The Freeman Institute and The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Rod is a proud Virginia Tech (Hokie) alum and native of Norfolk, VA.  Since 1999, Rod and his family have made Baltimore, MD their home.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you very much for Rev. Hairston's time and support last weekend. The event was a great success and his message was right on track for us. May God continue to richly bless your ministries! Greg Witte on behalf of the Baltimore-Washington Conference United Methodist Men
